Holla! My name is Vibali. I am currently studying Computer Science at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. I was nowhere sure if computer science was the right choice for me when I first joined college. But in the last 2 years of my college life I have found a passion for coming up with solutions to different problems faced by us as a society, studying algorithms and implementing them. The one thing that never stops fascinating me is that computer science makes it possible to implement imagination of a mere individual that can impact the whole world.


I also feel the duty to impart my experiences, my knowledge to my juniors. I have this huge regret of not knowing how to code in my high school years! I believe that writing code makes you chose bravery over perfection, a skill that needes to be inculcated in young girls. For this I have joined an all girl international community The Girl Code, where I have the platform and the resources to teach young school girls how to code through workshops. I feel immensely proud to be a chapter intern (Bihar) of this community where can I move forward with my goals.

Skills

I code mostly in C++, a language that I learnt when I was just getting started with Competitive Programming. I started my journey of development through Web Development (HTMl, CSS, bootstrap, Javascript, node.js, express) and then I switched to Flutter. I was introduced to open source through Hacktober Fest, ever since then I have been active in the open source community; participating in hackathons, workshops, Local Build Day all organised by Major League Hacking.

  • A Flutter health app exclusively for programmers, developed in 36 hours for SheHacks Hackathon.
  • On the basis of the questionnaire asked from the user, the app recommends relaxing exercises for the user for eyes, neck, back depending on the prone area identified by the algorithm.
  • Accurate and strong algorithm encoded in a .JSON file.
  • AdobeXD to Flutter plugin used to design the frontend
  • Exercises recommended are based on the book ’The Healthy Programmer’ by Joe Kutner.

  • A crypto currency price checking app made using Flutter
  • This Flutter app can provide the real time exchange rates of 3 crypto currencies Bitcoin, Ethereum, LiteCoin with respect to 21 major global currencies.
  • The app is backed by Coinapi API fetching the live crypto currency exchange rate
  • Cupertino Widgets used in the app

  • A desktop app alternative for browsing Reddit, as there is no official desktop app and plenty users dislike the interface of the web-browser
  • Made using Vue CLI Plugin Electron Builder
  • Dark Mode enabled app, frontend using Vue UI Library and Material Design Framework - Vuetify.
  • URLs synced using the official router for Vue.js- Vue Router
  • vue-axios package used to fetch the data from official Reddit API
  • This app supports r/aww subreddit page, but it has the scope to display any subreddit page.
